PARISH GROUPS
Emmaus Groups
Luke's Gospel (Ch 24 vs 13 to 35) tells of Jesus' appearance after the resurrection to two followers on the road to Emmaus. Jesus walked alongside the disciples and explained his teachings. That's the idea of the Emmaus Course. Each member walks alongside the other, both learning together and from each other.
In Britain some 5000 Churches have used Emmaus. We are using a well tried and recently updated Course designed to nurture and allow individuals to grow in their faith. Each group consists of about nine or ten people and meets fortnightly from autumn through to summer. Most meetings have been in the evening starting at 7.30pm and last approx 1½ hours. Given the groups' autonomy, other arrangements can be made to suit the group members.

Prayer Fellowship
For Christians, prayer is a vital and exciting part of their lives, whether it is shared in public worship or in private. We bring God our praise and thanksgiving as well as praying for worldwide, local or personal needs. The Parish Prayer Fellowship encourages us all to pray more and to explore wider experiences in small groups to provide essential support for the Church's mission. Regular articles in the monthly parish magazine highlight different aspects of prayer.
The Monday Group
The Monday Group began in 2007 as part of the Church's outreach and response to needs within the local area by extending a welcome to members of the local community who have a learning disability. The group shares craft activities, friendship and prayer together. It meets on the third Monday of the month 10.30am - 11.45am.
For further information contact the Vicar or Curate.
The Tuesday Club
The Tuesday Club meets every Tuesday in the Community Centre on Kingsfold Drive. It is a club for the over 50's and their friends. Everyone is made welcome. The day starts at 10.30am with tea/coffee and toast. We do various activities, jigsaws, painting, dominoes and other activities. Friendly banter and the sound of general chat usually fills the room. At noon a lovely 2 course lunch prepared on the premises is served; the menu is varied and good value at £2.00. In the afternoon we enjoy a range of social, creative and educational activities. Please pop in at any time and you'll be sure of a very warm welcome.

St Leonard's Church Choir
St Leonard's has a small but good Choir of four juniors and twelve adults. For Festivals we invite members from the Church Family to help us. The Choir sings at the 10.00am Sung Eucharists and Family Services and at Evensong on the first Sunday of the month at 6.00pm. We sing a mixture of old and new hymns and anthems. New members are always welcome. We practice on Thursdays in church from 6.30pm to 7.45pm.
Gilbert & Sullivan
Our popular Gilbert & Sullivan Group has a long and proud past and welcomes all those with an interest in musical theatre. We generally stage an annual production on 3 or 4 consecutive nights in May. In 2008 we did "Iolanthe" and in May 2009 "Princess Ida". We meet on Fridays in the Church Hall from 7.30pm - 9.30pm with principals rehearsing on Mondays from 7.30 pm from December to May.
